ZeroState: New generation search function

How would you react to a system that knows your preference not only from the point of view of what you like: cars or landscapes of the highlands, but does it based on how you feel about it? Agree, this is not the easiest question - it's not scary, if you do not even understand how this is possible. After all, in three parts we will tell you about ZeroState.

ZeroState is a platform that uses the emotional intelligence of a person interacting with this ecosystem, in order to give the end user the most relevant result.

This approach you have already seen in some online players, but such a concept has never reached such a scale. ZeroState can give you "gentle", "driving", "pacified" or "kayfovuyu" music, thanks to the fact that the project team understood how to work with the emotions of people who will use their application.

Non-ideal search engine

Modern search engines very often do not cope with their task. Not much time has passed since the "spiders" stopped working primarily on the keywords, as the user had to face another enemy of effective search - advertising.

Now more in detail. Previously, the search engines worked on the same principle as the search for text content: click on this page ctrl + F and enter the word "ZeroState" and you will find the mention of the project on the page. Similarly, the first search engines worked: they are looking for "to buy a vacuum cleaner" and he starts searching for pages where these two words are mentioned. However, we can say right away that this is not the most effective approach. It is enough to assume that the most accurate occurrence does not mean the most relevant result. For example, you can not in this way find a store with the most delicious wine in the neighborhood, or the cheapest dinners (and with ZeroState - you can, but more on that later). You will simply find shops on the sites where the entry "cheap lunch" or "delicious wine". Agree, not very informative.

Then, came a more progressive era, when the search engine began to analyze the preferences at the micro and macro levels, that is, take into account:

  • what most people like. That's why, scoring in Google 2011 "listening to music online" received the most popular records at that time and had a long tinkering, while you would include something that really appeals to the soul
  • something that you like specifically. So, thanks to the system that tracks your activity on the Internet, the search engine can give the most suitable results. For example, if I enter the query "the value of the width of the scale", then I will be offered articles on musical instruments, not chemical equipment, because I'm much more guitarist than a chemist (and Google knows about it )

And despite the fact that this system is not so good as to be called ideal, it also has serious shortcomings due to the human factor - the desire to earn. No, it's not bad at all, if it does not distort the result of the activity, but in the case of modern search engines, this is a problem.

It's not a secret that most search engines are commercial organizations and their main goal is to make a profit. Therefore, it is not surprising that the place in the top queries through their sites is worth the money. Through the promotion of sites through search results, Google every year multiplies its profits, like other major systems. How it happened from year to year, you can see from the infographics below.

Nevertheless, a real way that would ensure profit for the company and, at the same time, kept the impartiality of the search, while it was not implemented. It seems that ZeroState is ready to challenge the current situation. Moreover, they made rewards for ordinary users who use the application.

This concludes the first part of the review about ZeroState. Next, you will learn more about the operation of the platform and much more!
