In the first article of the review of the SupPorter project, we found out that it is aimed at creating a decentralized platform that uses blocking technology, smart contracts and crypto-currencies to provide its users with more convenient, quick, simple and effective donations for non-profit and political organizations.
The founders of the project are four former scouts Eagle Scout, whose company provides support and services for donations and financing of non-profit and political organizations. SupPorter is already a ready prototype of mobile applications for iOS and Android, as well as its web version, so the project already has its own followers audience and about 10,000 subscribers in social networks and instant messengers.
As it turned out, there are three main problems in the field of donations and charity: too high fees for cross-border transfers, impossibility to make donations with the help of crypto-currency, and a serious lack of trust on the part of donors. High Commissions
Due to the difficulty of making such payments as donations, especially if it is a large-scale cross-border transfer, a significant portion of all donations goes to pay for the commission, rather than helping to finance a non-profitable company or to cure a seriously ill person.
Such high commissions are conditioned by the payment model itself, because there are a few more so-called middle man intermediaries in the form of banks between the donor and the organization that he wants to finance, so that in order for one party to receive a donation from the second, the donor's bank must write off the funds from his account, transferred by processing a non-profit organization to the bank, which in the end can count this amount to the account of the organization.
On such commissions, organizations can lose quite large amounts, because in a percentage ratio they can reach 7%. Thus, if a user from his bank sends a donation of $ 1000 to a bank account of a cancer control organization, then, depending on the number of intermediaries, the payment will be lost to $ 70.
The solution to this issue in SupPorter is very simple - intermediaries in the form of banks are completely excluded from the donation procedure, so the donor transfers the funds directly to the organization, unprofitable or political, avoiding high commissions. Instead of the traditional 7%, SupPorter only charges 3%, so the effectiveness of such donations is clearly greater.
Possibility to donate crypto currency
The vast majority of decentralized platforms and other solutions in the field of charity and donations either allow for money transfers either exclusively in the form of a local fiat currency or exclusively in the form of a crypto currency.
This means that both the one and the second scenario limit the ability of donors to make payments in any convenient way, which reduces the amount of donations to a particular company, because it can be done either in dollars or only in the crypto currency.
The creators of SupPorter went in such a way that not only allowed payments to be made in any of the existing fiat or crypto currencies, but also simplified the procedure itself, so that an ordinary user who has nothing to do with the crypto-currency market will be able to make payments in the form of one of the crypto-currencies.
To do this, you will not need to study the market, the features of trading crypto-coins, etc. - due to a simple and clear interface, donors will be able to make payments in any form. This, on the one hand, will open more opportunities for users from among the donors, and on the other hand, non-profit and political organizations will be able to receive much more donations than they did before.
One can not ignore the fact that participation in SupPorter for non-profit and political organizations is completely free. They do not pay any additional commissions or one-time payments, therefore all charitable activities and donations are carried out absolutely transparently and effectively, benefiting society, the environment and individuals.
